CHAPTER SUMMARIES
Chapter 1
At the Windsor Hotel in Paris, the narrator (Frank Abganale) admires himself in the mirror. He isin an airline pilot's uniform. Moments later, he receives another glance from the clerk who gladly cashes his Pan American World Airways paycheck for him. The young man leaves for the airport. Once he gets there, he fills out a pink form granting him privileges on the next flight to Rome. Airport personnel address him as First Officer Frank Williams. In the cockpit, Williams is greeted by the pilot, co-pilot and flight engineer as he takes his place in the jump seat. At 30,000 feet, the pilot cordially allows Williams to take the controls for a few minutes and he says he would. But, he doesn't know how to fly an airplane. But, he flies it successfully.

Chapter 2
In this chapter Frank is searching for a life to live. He thinks people were looking at him like a normal teenager. He decided he was going to run away to New York and look for a job. No one would hire him because he was young and didn't have a high school or college diploma. Since he looked older he decided to act like he was. This is when he started living like a con. Instead of being 16 years old, he changed his ID and made himself 26 years old. He realized he could cash bad checks and get money out of it. He did this often, until he was afraid he was going to get caught. He wanted to try to become a pilot because they were trusted and respected, but he did not want to go through the training. He got a uniform and made a Pan Am Id.

Chapter 3
In this chapter, it talks about Frank getting better at faking being a pilot. Frank learns different flight terms just by listening to people talk. Frank is asked by a lot of people where he got his education and he makes up a lie. He says he went to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Frank is dating many girls he meets on the planes and everywhere else.
Chapter 4
Frank checks into a place to live in for a year in Atlanta as a doctor. Then, a real doctor moves in. This doctor is told Frank is a doctor and talks to Frank then goes on to tell Frank where he works and he should come sometime. Frank is then offered a part-time job when they are low on employees. He accepts and gives the impression that he lets anything go and lets the interns do it all.
Chapter 5
Frank decided to leave Atlanta because he didn't want to get caught because of staying for to long. Sean O'Reilly was told to drop all cases and work on Frank Abagnale's case. This shows how much damage he had done across the country. Frank decided to imposture a lawyer. By doing this he forged a Harvard law degree but he still had to pass the bar exam. So he studied as much as he could. Despite that, he failed that the first two times. But, finally passed the 3rd time.
